Organic Essiac Tea Blends Traditional herbal formulas inspired by the work of Rene Caisse
Welcome to Essi Organic!
Our Story
Essi-Organic was founded through the healing journey of our director, Rachel, whose background is rooted in natural wellness, working closely with animals, energy work, and a long-held respect for the body’s innate ability to restore balance when properly supported.
When faced with cancer in 2024, Rachel turned inward and toward a path of detoxification, emotional healing, and plant-based support. Essiac tea appeared repeatedly throughout her research, and she began incorporating it into her daily routine as part of a broader wellness practice.
What quickly became clear, however, was that much of the Essiac available in the UK was either prohibitively expensive, lacking clear organic certification, inconsistent in quality, or incomplete in its use of the traditional plant parts — particularly sheep sorrel root, which plays a key role in the original formula.
As her understanding deepened, so did her commitment to sourcing Essiac in a way that felt aligned with integrity, transparency, and trust.
A Focus on Quality, Not Complexity
Rachel is now working with Just T LLC, a long-established supplier producing and packaging the original 4-herb Essiac formula, made with:
Certified organic herbs
Correct plant parts, including sheep sorrel whole plant and root
Carefully maintained ratios
Consistent preparation standards
This partnership allows Essi-Organic to confidently offer an Essiac tea that is rooted in tradition, supported by transparent sourcing, and aligned with the formula Rene Caisse chose to protect most fiercely later in her life.
Our Mission
Essi-Organic exists to make high-quality, properly sourced Essiac accessible in the UK — without unnecessary mark-ups, exaggerated claims, or compromised standards.
Our focus is on:
Organic integrity
Responsible sourcing
Simplicity and consistency
Respect for individual choice
What once supported Rachel’s own personal journey is now shared with care, clarity, and honesty — for those seeking gentle, traditional herbal support as part of their own wellness path.
A Note on Language & Guidance (UK Compliance)
Because of the UK Cancer Act, we cannot write about Essiac in relation to cancer or make medical claims.
We completely understand that many people arrive here seeking deeper answers, especially when navigating something serious themselves or supporting someone they love. For this reason, all information shared through Essi-Organic is limited to traditional use guidance and general herbal information only.
We always encourage checking with a qualified healthcare professional if you are under medical care or unsure what is appropriate for you.
If you still have questions, you’re very welcome to email us. We’re happy to help with practical, non-medical support such as brewing, storage, timing, and choosing a routine that feels manageable and sustainable for you.

Can pets take Essi-Organic and if so how much should I give?
Essiac tea isn’t just for humans—it’s also safe and beneficial for your animal companions too! Whether you’ve got a dog, cat, or other furry friend, this gentle herbal blend can support their wellbeing when given in the right amounts.
As with all things, the key is to start small and work up slowly, always being mindful of how your pet responds.
This section will be updated with specific animal advice soon.

Does Essi-Organic Have Any Side Effects?
As the body begins to detox, some people may experience:
Mild digestive shifts
Temporary increase in urination or bowel movements (usually lasts a couple of days)
Slight nausea or fatigue
This is usually a sign the body is clearing out what it no longer needs. It's good to plan for this and start taking at a time you're a little quieter, so you can allow your body extra time to rest. If it feels like too much too fast, simply reduce your dosage for a few days and build back up.
As always, tune into your own intuition. Every body is different—and Essiac is here to support your natural healing rhythm, not rush it.

What About Contraindications?
Lots of people include herbal products as part of their wider wellbeing routine — sometimes while also taking prescribed medication.
Because Essi-Organic is a herbal drink and not a medicine, we are not allowed to advise on how to use it alongside specific medications or medical treatments, or make claims about what it will do in those situations. Our supplier does have generations of testimonies and use that you can look into should you choose.
If you take prescription medication
If you’re under medical supervision or receiving treatment, we recommend you follow your healthcare team’s guidance first and foremost, and check with them before adding any herbal products.
Timing (traditional guidance)
Traditional use guidance is to take Essi-Organic away from food, at consistent times each day. Many people find it easiest to take it:
first thing
before bed
(or at times that suit your routine)
If your medication has specific instructions (“with food” / “empty stomach”), follow those instructions and ask your clinician how best to schedule everything together. However Essiac does not break a fast, so is classed as 'empty stomach'.
Supplements
Many people keep their usual supplements the same when introducing Essi-Organic, but it can be a good idea to keep your routine simple and review your supplement list occasionally.
A simple note
Many customers choose to use Essi-Organic while also following conventional medical care. Because individual circumstances vary, we always recommend checking with a qualified healthcare professional if you’re unsure.

Burdock Root (Arctium lappa)
Wellness role: A strong source of antioxidants, known for soothing inflammation and helping balance gut bacteria thanks to its inulin content (Predes et al., 2011). Also used for immune and digestive support.
ECS connection: Shown to influence fatty acid pathways linked with endocannabinoid production, and has been investigated for activity with CB2 receptors (Izumi et al., 2014)

Sheep Sorrel (Rumex acetosella)
Wellness role: Traditionally used for cleansing and detox, with antimicrobial and immune-supporting flavonoids (Middleton et al., 2000).
ECS connection: Certain flavonoids are thought to interact with cannabinoid receptors and reduce FAAH activity, supporting higher endocannabinoid levels (Thors et al., 2020).

Slippery Elm Bark (Ulmus rubra)
Wellness role: Valued for soothing the digestive tract and supporting gut health; also used historically to ease throat and respiratory irritation (Wang et al., 2018).
ECS connection: Research suggests possible links to immune function through CB2 receptor activity (Márquez et al., 2019).

Rhubarb Root (Rheum officinale / Rheum palmatum)
Wellness role: Known for assisting liver cleansing and gentle bowel stimulation. Contains anthraquinones with antimicrobial actions (Zhou et al., 2019).
ECS connection: Some rhubarb compounds may influence enzymes within the ECS, adjusting receptor sensitivity (Chen et al., 2021).
